Ayame Unity is good for unlocking quest weaponskills, but again at max level DD trusts falter off. For Unity, people generally go to Apururu (the best healer), Yoran Oran (heals have the Solace effect), or Sylvie (Geomancer). Sakura is also available and offers HP restore geomancy and a bonus of combat skill ups if you need them. Amchuchu is the best tank (along with August, but you're a ways from getting him). Qultada will put up an EXP bonus roll if you have an EXP/CP ring effect on. Qultada and Koru are useful as support, and Koru is a Haste2, healing, debuffing machine as well. There's an extravaganza going on at the moment, so stop whatever it is you're doing and get everything available (especially Qultada, Amchuchu, and KoruMoru). The problem with the trust system is SE's horrible design decision to have these campaigns and extravaganzas that lock newcomers out of the best trusts for months. People generally say that Shantotto 2 is the best DD trust, but she's not available at the moment. DD trusts are usually a bunch of goofs that lack accuracy/magic accuracy.
Trusts at max level are different than while leveling/questing. My main issue is that most of the trusts I can get through the main city questline and RoE tutorial quests seem a bit lackluster, and from what I've seen searching the backlog of r/ffxi it seems like most people find them reasonably bad or just "meh".Įxcept for the login campaign (of which I've only gotten Teodor so far), I have the basic four from each Nation (sans Shantotto, of which i had to go out and farm some items for her required pre-quests), the 4 RoE tutorial Trusts, Ayame (Unity, seems like I goofed there) and Lion II (from RoV).Īre there any easily acquired and reasonably better options for me? Are any of these good to begin with? So many questions :S Heck, I just got my airship pass and defeated the Shadow Lord for the first time after 100 days playtime combined on two alts over the years. Never before in my 13 years career of on/off FFXI have I ever been able to get this far on any character (now that I don't have to pester the few friends I had who were maxed out or my always rather unresponsive LS's for help). I just got back into FFXI after a 4 year break and was welcomed by (in my opinion) the best system Squeenix ever implemented, namely Trusts.
